I have seen a few of these new I6 's that replaced the stovebolt I6 pop up on ebay recently and they make pretty good horsepower and torque numbers. I just called advance adapters and they have nothing for them. Has anyone thought about doing this swap into a CJ or similair? And how would you go about doing it without aftermarket support?
Info on the engine:

you would probably be stuck with using only the stock chevy trans because the starter is in a real weird spot, drivers side top almost, this really is the biggest limiting factor i see.

those are some impressive numbers for stock though. Thats probably more then twice the power of my I6 258.

Also search over at inliners.org... I remember seeing some threads on it over there. There was even some chatter about a Toyota manual trans being a bolt-on to the 5-banger bellhousing.
IMO, it would be best to get *everything* from the donor vehicle to make it run. They start cutting away and bypassing what you don't want.

They are not that reliable and are drive-by-wire. They are also very deep. The front diff goes through the oilpan.
